This theme deals with the impact of aging on individuals with spinal cord injury and the impact of secondary complications of spinal cord injury on health and function.

With over 1,000 members from 87 countries, ISCoS is renowned for its international conference, the Annual Scientific Meeting, which began in 1961 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in England. As the President of the International Spinal Cord Society, I am delighted to invite you to the 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting taking place between 22-25 September 2024 in Antwerp, Belgium. The ISCoS Annual Scientific Meeting is always a forum where various clinicians and researchers in the field of Spinal Cord Damage come together to present their latest scientific work, network with colleagues from around the world, debate and discuss the latest development as well interact with consumers’ representative.

Spinal cord damage due to injury or disease is a life changing condition that requires the input of large number of professionals, that vary along the various stages of the person journey from the acute phase, into rehabilitation, and for the years to come thereafter until old age. It is therefore an opportunity to meet and engage with medics from various disciplines, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, clinical psychologists, speech and language therapists, dietitians, case managers and others. What they all have in common is their passion to advance the care and treatment of spinal injured persons.

You will also have the opportunity to visit the various exhibitors showing the latest advanced technologies that help and make life of the individuals with spinal cord damage, comfortable.
